Just something simple would suffice at first. A page that grabs the RSS feeds of everyone's sites and puts them together in chronological order. Not only would it make it easy for a reader (or searcher) to find something interesting to read (or find what he was looking for) but it would also generate a bit of well-deserved traffic to the smaller blogs out there that write interesting articles, but don't advertise.
And from a SEO perspective, it's brilliant. The page will be updated once a day with any new posts that you write, and will link back to you on every article, adding to your linkbacks and google rank. Because the page will (hopefully) get plenty of pageviews (due to it covering multiple blogs and not just one), the weight of the link will be a bit heavier.
Now, I don't want to be accused of stealing everyone's blog content, so this is strictly a voluntary opportunity. You can submit your site if you wish, but there is one thing that I want in return. I want to keep the quality of the page linking to all of these blogs up. Now, that doesn't mean you can't link up if you don't use the best grammar (though I recommend it) or if you just talk about bland things like python (
So, if you're interested in pumping up your blog's readers and gaining a bit of extra traffic, feel free to leave a comment below with a link to your site and its RSS feed. Feel free to leave any other information you want as well. And after all, by posting to get added, you're getting linked to from hackerthreads as well -- yet another linkback and source of visitors!
Right now, you can see the page at: http://htblogs.webege.com/
I just started working on it this morning, so it's still a bit in beta. But as far as I can tell, it works fine!
