How to make a simple real Virus

HI agen. Another thing that is interesting me alot is the fact of making viruses. I have made a few to use on myself to try out my Norten Anti Virus. I used Batch Virus but it wasnt very efective. If anyone out there can help a noob like me and give me a step by step on how to make a virus it would be extremely appreciated.

I might make this into a full tutorial actually, oh well. That's all for a later time.

Step 1.
Decide what system you're going to attack. In most cases this is going to be some (fairly) current version of Windows, simply as there are the most of them, and has the most uneducated users.

Step 2.
Decide how your virus is going to replicate and infect other machines. Is it going to need to be emailed? Is it going to have worm like properties and spread without human help? (In which case you'll have to write the distribution mechanism)

Step 3.
Decide how it's going to not get caught. Are you going to make it change itself? (and thus it's antivirus signature) Are you just going to make it a hidden file? Are you going to make it inject itself into operating system files?

Step 4.
Write up a detailed list of specifications and features. (Trust me, this will be worth it's own weight in gold once you start programming.)

Step 5.
Decide on a programming language. Now that you've decided what the virus is going to do and what it needs, what programming language best suits those needs? (This step basically means sitting down and hitting google hard for a night, if you don't have a lot of experience with a lot of different languages.)

Step 6.
Code. Just start coding until your fingers are sore to the bone. Then take a nap and code some more.

Step 7.
Set up a LOT of different testing machines and test it until you feel sick to your stomach. (Obviously it helps a lot if you can use virtual machines for this.)

Step 8.
Go back to step 6 and fix all the issues you discovered in testing. Repeat until you couldn't find another problem with it to save your life.

Step 9.
Set your baby free into the world, sit back and watch it go.

NOTES:
- Malicious viruses suck ass, make ones that have a use to you. Or that are just plain hilarious.
- This really is no different from any kind of software development. Except you can't get people to install updates, so you HAVE to get it right the first time, every time!

Visit some of the malicious websites listed here instead: http://www.spyware-techie.com/malicious-website-list/. If any of them infect your computer, you wasted your money.

If, on the other hand, you are like me and you want to learn because you find computers and hacking fun and interesting, then go ahead and learn hard. Do you know any programming languages?
