I like windows more than the other because i never used the other ones.
I have downloaded the newest linux fedora but dono how to install it.

None, although I voted linux.
There is disadvantages and advantages for all the OS's.
The clearest being between windows and unix/linux.

Go to http://linuxiso.org and download this .iso s to which ever one you want. Burn them to cd using Nero(easiest) then change your boot sequence in the bios and pop the first cd in your cdrom and it should boot up and then you follow the instructions. Good luck

You're welcome. I would suggest you either go with the Mandrake distro, or try out Redhat 9.... although it won't be supported for very long. I personally like Slackware or Redhat.

I Have Fedora Core 1 is that good to?

I haven't tried it, but I have heard good things. I wouldn't suggest it at all if you're new to the Linux scene. Go with Mandrake to learn... it'll make learning new distros of Linux easier in the future. Good luck.

meh, personally i prefer Knoppix , i like the no installation features and automatic partition of drives when it boots up. very nice GUI plus lots of handy features, only 699 megs

Who cares about size when we've got 30GB HDD's shipping with low end PC's. Honestly, go with Mandrake to learn then progress to something more advanced when you feel totally comfortable with Mandrake and the shell.

who said i cared about size, ive tried the other linux's mentioned here and a prefer Knoppix. im not complaining about size, ive still got 80 gigs left on my HDD

So its a peeing contest... Look you didn't give reason for choosing Knoppix, I did; its a beginners distro. We're not asking about your personal preferance, we're trying to address the issue of converting a Windows user to Linux. Why would you swamp him with a distro that he probably couldn't navigate in the beginning. Mandrake is the best bet for beginners.

hmm seems this whole thread was about our personal preferences, so read the whole thread before u post...i stated that i liked it more and why, i didnt ask u to like Knoppix and i dont really feel like arguing about it with u in this thread, this is a personal opinion thread, that was my opinion,
